HOW MaG GOT INTO RALLY WORLD AND WHAT HE HAVE ACHIEVED

Magendran has been involved in rally since 1998. He was a loyal spectator at his cousin Sunthar Saminathan's races before he got into rallying. It came at a time when the desire to be part of thehit him hard and from just a spectator, he became the camerman at Sunthar's races, before becoming amember of Sunthar's service crew and now finally moving up as a rally driver.

All these years he has been participating as privateer sourcing for his own fund and with the help ofsome small sponsors to cover his rallying expenses. However his status as a privateer did not stop himfrom achieving notable results. He started rallying in a Proton Satria 1800cc car.Magendran took part 3 major Round's In Felda Malaysian Rally Champioship 2007.

In Round 2 held Paka, Terengganu, despite facing several problems, had risen to the occasion and put in improvedstage times. He manage to finish in 13th overall and 2nd in Clubman category.

It was big turning point for Magendran and Daveender Singh in Round 4 of Felda Malaysian RallyChampionship 2007. Enol Autowerks did their great job for this round by re-built the whole set of enginefor the car and did major works on exterior of the car. This was really good advantage for both Magendran and Daveender Singh to show their talent. They Manage to finish infront some experience drivers on 6th overall, 1st in Clubman Category, 2nd in 1800cc category.

The final Round of Felda Malaysian Rally Champioship 2007 held in Chuping, Perlis. Had few problems on the car, example starter motor problem and over heating problem cause him 20 seconds penalty.This made him fail to fight for the Clubman Championship points. But he stil manage to finish in 11thoverall, 2nd in Clubman Category, 3th in 1800cc category. A.Magendran and his co-driver Daveender Singh is the 1st Runners up for Clubman Championship,4th in 1800cc for year 2007.

Year 2008, Magendran did get a chance to compete any of the 6 round's of Malaysian Rally championship 2008, due to no sponsorship eventough he has finished and proved some good result on 2007 as a begginers.

But his interest and spirit never let him down, whereby he got the chance to take part small and fun events like MAM RALLY X round 1 and round 2 at KLIA, Sepang. Round 1 he manage to finish 1st on RALLY CAR CLASS 4 category. Round 2 he manage to finish 4th placing on RALLY CAR CLASS 4 after suffering from engine problem during the race.

RALLY PROFILE INTRODUCTION

Introduction

Motorsport is interesting in that it appeals to a wider than average spectrum of society than initiallymight be thought. One look at the crowd rally meets will reveal a broad range of incomes andpersonalities present; to the extent that it is almost impossible to categorize all spectators into oneor two specific groups based on either demographics, psychographics or behavior.In general it may be said that there are at least four types of viewers that one can see present atmotorsport events;

1. Die-Hard racing Enthusiasts.
These people are delicated motorsports followers, who veryrarely miss races, placing them ahead of most work andindeed family commitments. Such groups typically subscribeto motorsports magazines, watch racing videos in their sparetime and talk a lot about cars with their similarly-mindedfriends.

2. Occasional Enthusiasts
This is a group of people who enjoy motorsports but whobecause of time constraints from work or family will onlyattend races if they are free on the day. Like the die-hardgroup, the occasional take pride in their cars and arefastidious when it comes to their car's image andperformance. They tend to belong in the upper incomegroups and often-own one or more cars.

3. Thrill Seekers.
These are people who attend race meets purely for the noise and excitement as well as thepossiblity of seeing an accident. Members of this group are typically younger than those in othergroups, and include teenagers who have little else to do on the weekends. Their knowledge ofmotorsports is minimal but that doesn't detract from their enjoyment of the events.

4. Passers-by / Inquistitive
These people have no interest or knowledge of motorsports, but for watever reason are in the areaand upon hearing the noise and seeing the crowds present, want to find out what is going on. Oftensuch people are with their friends and / or family and will not usually stay for much longer than halfif their interest is not sustained.Why Motorsport?
